BUILT ON STANDARDS THAT DON'T CHANGE

My parents established Carol Bird Interiors on a simple principle: personal service creates better interiors. When I took over in 2001, that foundation remained.

Today, supported by Carere, Carol, Sam, and Stephen - each with decades of experience - we still work the way traditional design houses always have. Personally. Completely. With materials you can experience, not just view on screen.

David Bird - Your Project Director

Liberty-Trained, Yorkshire-Based, Internationally Experienced

After Liberty of London, David returned to Beverley in 1993 to open Carol Bird Interiors. When his father retired in 2001, David evolved the business whilst preserving what his parents established: personal service on every project.

Three decades later: projects across the UK, Spain, Italy and the Caribbean. Established relationships with Britain's finest fabric houses.

"Our homes have never been as important as they are today. In many ways they are our sanctuary, a place to relax and be comfortable but also a place to grow and inspire us."

What this means: You work directly with David throughout. Not a junior designer. The person with 30+ years of expertise remains personally involved from first conversation through final installation.

The Team Behind Your Project

David and the design team are supported by specialists who ensure every detail meets the standard we've maintained for over 30 years.

Carere Rooms

Interior Design, Buying AND Display

Carere has been designing interiors for over 30 years and with the team here for over 20.

‘I have been fortunate to have worked closely with many clients over a number of years. This has helped me to understand their likes, dislikes, how they live and this drives the design process and what we do.’

"I have always enjoyed mixing texture, colour and pattern to create schemes that are individual to each client, complementing their style, home and vision. Seeing the end result and a happy customer is very rewarding."

Carol Riley

Showroom Management, Buying, Display

Carol's background is in the fashion industry and her flair for colour, texture and design has brought an exciting skill to the team.

"I have always enjoyed furnishing my own home so assisting clients every day is a true vocation and great fun! Our showroom has an informal, relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful fabrics and wallcoverings which makes coming to work a real pleasure."

Stephen Jones

Upholstery, Installation, Curtain Installation

Steve has been an upholsterer for over 40 years and brings a wealth of expertise. He has been with the team for over 15 years.

"We always strive to do the very best job we can, no matter if it takes a little longer to achieve the best results. That environment is a pleasure to work in as we all share the same goals. Having pride in your work is much easier when you're using beautiful fabrics and materials."

Sam Quantock

Accounts, Order Processing, Scheduling

Sam has been with the team for over 5 years and has worked in high-end interior design for over 30 years.

"I love the variety of the work which I suppose is why I haven't strayed from the industry all my working life! The bespoke nature of what we do means that no two days are the same and developing good relationships with our suppliers is crucial to keeping our production schedules running smoothly."

The Showroom Difference

Why a Physical Space Still Matters

Walk in and you'll understand immediately what's been lost elsewhere.

Touch fabrics from Britain's premier textile houses—Colefax & Fowler, Osborne and Little, GP & J Baker, Sanderson. See how textures layer under actual light, how colours shift from morning to evening.

This is how refined interiors begin. Not with screens, but experiencing possibilities in a space designed for considered decisions.

When you're making investment decisions that shape how your home feels for decades, you need more than samples in the post.
